START LINE
The Norrenberger Abuja Fitlife Half Marathon uses a pulse/wave start method – 60 seconds time intervals separating the waves – to reduce course congestion. Wave assignments are determined by the predicted finish time of each runner indicated during registration. First wave is by request only and the deadline to submit a request is November 15th 2022.
SIGNAGE, CLOCKS
Kilometer signs and clocks will be posted every 2 Kilometers up to Kilometer 16 and every 1km thereafter. Course clocks will be set to correspond with the 7am start time.
REFUELING STATIONS
Water and Lucozade Boost are available every 3 kilometers beginning at Kilometer 3.
All hydration stations have Lucozade Boost set up first. To avoid bottlenecks at the first table, you can get your drinks from a later table. Please keep moving even after you’ve picked up your drink. If you wish to slow down to drink, please do so after you have passed all tables. For your safety, only take fluids at the official stations which will be protected by race security.
Both Lucozade and water will be available at Central Park before and after the race.
Medical Aid stations are available at 3 aid stations: Kilometer 7, 12 and 18
COURSE ENTERTAINMENT
As you run this beautiful and hilly route, you’ll be cheered by supporters and spectators who make Abuja renowned for its hospitality.

SUPPORT ACCOMMODATIONS
Should you find yourself unable to complete the entire course due to either physical or time limitations, the Support Team is available to assist you. Support Vans/cars will be available to pick up any participants who need a ride back to Central Park. The Support Vans will be circulating the routes. There will be water and Lucozade on board each vehicle.
COURSE TIME LIMIT
The time limit for the half marathon is four hours. However, in order to complete the race faster than the roads are being re-opened to vehicular traffic, all participants must be able to maintain a minimum of 9 minute per kilometer or faster over the first 15kms of the course.
Under no circumstances may participants be on the course before the official start time. Beginning before the official start time will result in disqualification.
Participants are not allowed on the course after the streets are reopened to vehicular traffic. Participants who fall behind pace will be asked by the Road Safety Personnel to board a Support Van as roads reopen to vehicular traffic.
WALKERS AND SLOWER PARTICIPANTS
Norrenberger Abuja Fitlife Half Marathon welcomes all those who can finish in the 3hrs:30mins time limit. If you plan on participating but cannot average the necessary minutes per kilometer pace, please be advised that streets on the route will be opened to traffic on a rolling schedule, as dictated by our permit.
